This place was our little savior after an eight mile walk along the Fife Coastal Path that ended in Crail right before the town was closing up for the night. I'm allergic to fish but was able to find some tasty options to fill up for the night. I had the smoked sausage, chips with vinegar and smashed peas. I especially enjoyed the smashed peas and smoke sausage. My dinner mates had the fish and chips and the lobster patties and seemed to enjoy those as well.
We didn't have dessert but they do offer chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. This is a simple cafe with a handful of tables and an easy setup for carry out. Located in the heart of Crail, it was an easy five to ten minute walk from the Fife Trail. Such a reward to cap the day off! -

What's not to like? I rarely eat fish and chips these days, but I stopped in here on impulse and was thrilled by my decision. Fresh and moist haddock perfectly cooked. Probably the best prepared F&C I have eaten.

One of the best fish and chips locations in Scotland, with a couple of non-briny selections for those not feeling the call of the bounding main. The batter or breading is light, the fish and chips well drained, frying is done in vegetable oil, and the main attraction, often local, is sustainably fished in northern waters. Grilling is available for those not relishing batter. Very clean, attractive and friendly, with wifi (!) and a view of Crail's picturesque High Street. Colin the owner is cheery and helpful, as is all the staff. A delicious and homey alternative to the crowds and crush at the also-good Anstruther Fish Bar down the coast. A scrumptious don't-miss!
